This wedding, set in my hometown of Bangkok, was a deeply personal project where I served as both client and creative director. Drawing on my background in landscape architecture, I envisioned an "Oriental Chic" theme—a fusion of modern architectural elegance and lush tropical ambiance.
From the very beginning, we approached the event as a holistic brand experience, ensuring every detail told our story. I designed our website, which included a curated travel guide for our out-of-town guests, to compliment our wedding theme. The custom invitations further set the tone: the envelope featured an illustrated origin story of our relationship, while the invitation itself showcased lush floral motifs and a romanticized illustration of us at our urban rooftop venue—offering guests a preview of the day’s aesthetic. A bespoke icon of our dog bridged our two worlds, paying homage to Thailand (my home) and California (my husband’s), symbolizing the union of our lives and cultures.
I guided the design process by curating precedent imagery and defining key thematic elements, collaborating closely with my wedding planner to bring the vision to life. The spatial design emphasized structured forms through built installations—a sculptural wedding arch, dramatic photo backdrops, and a striking reception stage—while celebrating Thailand’s native flora. Verdant rainforest textures were woven throughout, transforming the venue into an immersive indoor jungle with a modern twist.
The result was a harmonious blend of refined architectural details, organic natural beauty, and deeply personal storytelling—a tribute to my professional design sensibilities, my roots in Bangkok, and the love that brought us together.
